The referendum result is announced
The remoaner claim: Remoaners have made many false claims about the referendum result.
They claim that the result was narrow.
The reality:
- Remain: 16,141,241
- Leave: 17,410,742
- Margin: 1,269,501
- Valid: 33,551,983
- Discards: 25,359
- Total: 33,577,342
- Turnout: 74.2%
Remoaners try to minimise this difference. They claim that a "small margin" somehow invalidates the result...
Yet... in order to match the leave result, the remain camp would have had to increase their vote share by the margin, 1,269,501.
As a percentage that represents an increase of 7.87% which is not insignificant at all.
Remoaners think that REMAIN should have been given an advantage by setting a goalpost to favour a remain result.
Suppose this result had been the converse... Would remain supporters gave questioned the result? Would leave supporters?
